Frankie Rose Announces New LP 'Cage Tropical', Airs New Single "Trouble”

Brooklyn singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Frankie Rose  —formerly of the Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls—  has announced 'Cage Tropical', her first new album in four years.

The follow-up to 2013's Herein Wild  will be out August 11 via Sluberland/Grey Market, and was made with Jorge Elbrecht (Tamaryn, No Joy, Violens) featuring contributions from Dave Harrington (Darkside). It was created during an ill-fated stay in LA after departing her Brooklyn base.

"It’s all essentially based on what happened to me in Los Angeles and then a return to Brooklyn," Rose says of Cage Tropical. "Misery turned into something good. The whole record to me is a redemption record and it is the most positive one I’ve made."
